Our mission goal.

We here at DLCD are committed to bringing affordable and great looking alternatives to the dollhouse collector, model railroader and miniature wargamer.
Many of our kit products use green, low cost alternatives to plastic and only require PVC glue (a.k.a. school glue) to go together.
We use Taskboard, Matboard, Backerboard and Northern Basswood. Don't let the materials fool you. These kits go together quickly and will give you years of durable enjoyment.

28mm Bridge. # Item BR001
Painted by: Cyborg Trucker

A narrow line of glue with some play-box sand along each side helps to create the gravel and crud that collects along the roadside.
After that dries. I primed the bridge flat black and dry-brushed it with dark gray craft paint. I then applied 2 strips of masking tape to make the white No Passing line.
By adding some spare model parts and laser-cut flag stones the bridge can be dressed up further.
The bridge is 6" wide so you have have 2 three inch wide lanes and it allows for larger vehicles to pass over.

28mm Battle Damaged Bridge with rubble cut-outs. Item # BR002
 Painted by: Cyborg Trucker

For these 2 bridges I took one of BR001 and one of BR002 and mixed the parts to make 2 slightly less damaged bridges.
I'm not sure why I put a passing lane on a bridge like this. I guess I just have a mean streak. Then again maybe that is why it is in the shape it is.
For the exposed rebar wires I used needlepoint canvas. You can purchase a large sheet usually for a $1.00 at any craft store.
First measure out the area you want to cover. Make sure to leave enough to hang over so you can securely glue it to the bottom of the bridge. Before you glue it, cut out any damage holes you want in it. I used 2 part epoxy for a strong bond.
I added some plastic strips to look like expansion joints. Many of the bridges in Wisconsin have them so they weather the shrinking and expansion stress of the changing seasons here without crumbling.

The 28mm Battle Damaged Bridge comes with rubble cut-outs you can use to create damaged pieces of masonry or road. Using some old lampposts I had lying around I first glued 2 of the cut-outs together. I then glued on the lampposts and sand.
I primed them black and gave it a dry-brushing of dark and then light gray. The post bases were painted with mustard and school bus yellow. Then I washed the base with brown ink. The posts were dabbed with brown to dirty them up and the gun metal tops dabbed with dark copper.

In reality lampposts are designed to snap off at the base to prevent massive damage to cars that might strike them. So they would actually be missing if a nuke hit but I wanted them to look like they were exposed to extreme heat and twisted up like a pretzel.

28mm Modular Office Building. Item # OB001
Painted by: Cyborg Trucker

I primed the building with Rust-oleum Painter's Touch Ultra Cover brown primer. It does have a slight rust color to it which may not be noticeable here. I then dry-brushed it with a
Caucasian flesh tone.
I used common dish scrubber pads to create the bushes around the building. I laid them out on my cutting mat. It has a 1/2" grid. Using a metal straight edge and a utility knife I cut out long strips. You can use PVC or hot glue to attach them after all the painting is done.

The front side walk is just a piece of cereal box cardboard cut to shape and glued down.

Middle-eastern village for Force-on-Force
(Custom Order)
Fan submitted photos of his purchase of multiple sets of Middle-eastern buildings in 20mm. He put them all together that morning and was ready for battle by noon with nothing more than a bottle of PVA (school) glue. He is forming a Force on Force group and uses Battlefield Evolution figures for his army.

Elevated Landing Pad
(Prototype)
For a 40K Planetstrike/Apocalypse battle the owners of The Game Store asked if I could supply a prize for the match. Players whose forces held the objective the longest got to take the different objectives home as prizes.
This is a prototype I'm working on for full production.
